For 2022, the drivers of the French F4 Championship, operated by the FFSA Academy, will benefit from a brand new car. The F4 Mygale Generation 2 brings major developments in terms of performance and safety, in compliance with FIA regulations. When Théo Pourchaire tested the 2022 car at Le Castellet, he exceeded expectations by improving the F4 lap record by 2.5 seconds.
A faster and safer car
The new Mygale M21-F4 is equipped with a safety halo, 100% carbon bodywork and other major developments for driver safety. The new French F4 is powered by an Alpine engine prepared by Oreca and equipped with a brand new turbo. The promise of increased performance in this new configuration is already there. An improvement of more than 2.5” per lap was achieved on the Paul Ricard circuit during the first tuning sessions with Théo Pourchaire at the wheel.
A fair and affordable Championship
French F4 still offers French and foreign drivers a Championship directly managed by the Federation, fully integrated into the international points scale and on an identical basis for all drivers. In addition, they benefit from the supervision and infrastructure of the FFSA Academy based in Le Mans.
From a technical point of view, all the single-seaters are operated in an equitable manner, with the support of the FFSA Academy’s coaching teams and student mechanics, enabling all the drivers to compete on an equal footing.
Finally, in financial terms, the rates offered by the FFSA Academy to French and foreign drivers will favour accessibility and will be the most competitive on the market in 2022.
The race begins with the opening of registrations
Thanks to the introduction of the FIA Mygale Gen 2 F4, the 2022 French F4 Championship offers a more attractive package than ever before with five events in France and two abroad. Applications are already coming in from all over the world for the coming season.
